Is anyone else having a lack of consistency with how Amex is verifying checkout info? It asks me to do a verification code every time I go through... sometimes, it insists on texting me the code, sometimes it emails, sometimes it's a choice of those two, and sometimes it's CID. I'm finding the text version works ok, but the email version doesn't work consistently (at least on Newegg, where the page hangs, only when I have to do an email verification).

For sure that's what it is. Most of my aus are only getting 4 digit code as I didn't provide any info on those accounts. The others are getting email codes

Disagree. On some sites for my AUs they are giving me email, other sites (specifically ticketmaster) insisting on 4 digit code.

Yes, and now only getting option for texts, which is inconvenient since I recently lost my phone to Yam haMelach...

Yesterday I got all emails for my Newegg purchases. Today I got texts for my cards. When I started doing AU's, Amex is confirming CID. Strangely, the 1st time I enter the info, I get msg. from ticketmaster that the country doesn't match. When the same info a second time it works? I wonder if maybe it's giving me a problem cuz I'm using AU's on same TM account?

+1 about the country not matching.. i got it for a few cards...

Read it carefully, it says the country does not match the infor on your 'visa' checkout.. hehe
