It is a mitzva to be mikadesh an isha. INHO all of these if your father said/if you made a shvua/made a tnai etc. are all silly because that can be anything. When is it a mitzva to stand on your head and spit wooden nickels.....
So you're suggesting that a person having his only item with the bracha hamotzi, 3 months after sukkos in the sukka, isn't silly?
I don't sin, I give myself opportunities to repent.

While I was merely jesting for the sake of it, I do think some of the other suggestions are more likely to happen. Though it must have taken some contemplation to come up with the question to begin with and I don't want to minimize that.
I don't sin, I give myself opportunities to repent.

Will people outside Lubavitch appreciate/understand?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I agree that it's most likely the minority but I definitely think there are people who know about chabad minhagim and don't feel very strongly one way or the other about many of them.

I wouldn't put this at the category of a minhag.

As one who aspires to be a Lubavitcher, I don't feel there is any inyan in trying to influence others to keep minhagei Chabad. However there is definitely an inyan to encourage people to avoid non-kosher animals as children's toys, as per the Rebbe's suggestion.

Why would something the Rebbe suggested be any different than a Lubavitcher minhag? With all due respect to both yourself and the Rebbe, being that I'm not Lubavitch it means little to me in my decision making.
