The water is supposed to be a single gallon. Based off the price and description
Yea, without question. Will Jet.com offer comp for cancelled or mistake orders?

I paid 6-7 dollars on the exact same listing yesterday.

Besides the point, it's very cheap even if it's only for a single bottle.

Keep in mind that things are price mistakes, not bad listings in these situations. See the tissues example upthread.

My Kleenex tissues are shipping one-day with UPS from kmart in PA. They are paying double of what I paid, if they don't have an agreement with them. Do they?
No, the whole plan is to lose money to make artificially low prices so that people pay for membership and they can later in the game fulfill it themselves and raise prices. See WSJ article.

I don't think anyone can tell you how long they plan on the heavy subsidies. At this point they're just giving away money that investors are plowing into them.

In this situation it was a bad algorithm comparing the price to Amazon in a wrong way. See upthread.

My bet is they want to show massive sales and sell before this blows up in their face.

I really can't believe it's worth it for you to waster your time to get a single gallon of water and then try and deal with their customer service to get your money back. To each his own

The subsidies seem to be for concierge items, not the rest.
Once they have the items in stock, those products won't be losing them money even if they sell at the discounted price.

At least that's what's been said so far.

It's not expensive for 1 gallon of water either, especially shipped.
And if they cancel the items, think of it as a way to trigger the free shipping without spending $35.

Besides this was listed for a lot more expensive last night. No way that was for only one bottle.

I just bought a bunch more stuff. I don't see a single way that these prices are sustainable. I'm paying on average 40% less then local store prices

They are not sustainable and anyone with a half a brain understands why. Get it while the getting is good.
