Transferring/Receiving Ultimate Rewards points to/from ineligible receivers.
You can only transfer or receive Chase Ultimate Rewards points between spouses/domestic partners or between co-business owners on a business card. Transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to others Chase Ultimate Rewards accounts may result in both the sender and the recipient’s cards being closed. You can however safely transfer points directly to an additional user’s airline/hotel mileage account.

A friend of mine has a Business Ink card which he maxed out a few months ago, he had trouble paying the bill and ignored the minimum payments for 2 months.
He logged on today to pay off his balance, only to discover that chase gently removed his 90k+ Ultimate Reward points from his account.....

What are the odds of him getting them back? and what would be the best way to go about it?

According to the T&C's, you won't lose your points as long as the account is open. You can lose them if they close the account due to non payment for 60 days. If they didn't close the account, he should call them and complain.

I transferred UR to Hyatt, on Fri. and the points are still not in the account.
Chase says its in progress, and can take up to 2 business days, and since its in progress, they can't do anything about it.
IME it's always been instant, and not sure what happened this time.

People have reported that Hyatt lets you make a points reservation even without the points and they just tell you that the points have to be there by the time you check in. Just tell them that the points are on the way.

This is definitely a Chase thing where they hold things up. Had it in the past to United. I transfered last week to Hyatt and it was instant.

My problem was that the stay was starting today, and the points didn't show up yet.
I had to split the reservation, and then add the last day when the points I'm waiting for show up.

I want to book 2 RT tickets this week and I have the freedom and sapphire. Is it cheaper and better to do it on the ultimate rewards page or is it the same thing if I do it on orbitz?
