I know personally a few ppl that went thru there system and all they do is to make sure you change ,and they call it be what you want to be and they help you to start ged and they say that they help you get a college  degree and to be on your own and to be like all secular ppl in the world and after u start the ged ,they don't  know you and least to say that most of them don't  pass ged , they have government programs for ged and thats how they make there money and thats all about it ,every person that went thru the system will tell you the same ,they are a bunch of idiots

They have some kinda of full time paid staff always looking for new clients.

Dan, I missed 5 pages of this thread but from what I see at a glance is that you are actually trying to have an intelligent discussion. Dan, people who consume cholov akum have timtum hamoach and cannot grasp spiritual concepts let alone even abstract philosophical concepts. They try to make everything grey. There is no right or wrong, black or white. And they are convinced that they are the zealots. They can't hold themselves back from Snickers and they want to be thought of as hardcore.

Because they cought the ppl with there lies and this broken hearts get faith in them as god , and once you change your lifestyle and changing there look to non yid and they loose friends and family and then they need friends, housing,job ,money psychological advice they don't know you ,they can only give ged classes and this consciousness is a path to suicide when they see they are left alone in the world

perhaps because they are not hearing Emes and because they are lacking the warmth and love that Shabbos and family can provide.
Possibly also they have deeper scars from their backgrounds -- they would have benefited from parental supported professional therapy -- however, unfortunately some sects do not prefer that as part of the proper solution. (We know R' Dr. Twerski highly recommends it. He's seen it all.)

I don't disagree with that either, but still don't see how the suicides reflect on an organization which is clearly catering to troubled souls. As horrible as the organization sounds I do not see the suicides as showing its horrors.

The ones who know firsthand ( or second hand ) of someone who ended up with Foodsteps are clearly against them.

The ones who read the website and are seeing their "mission statement" see some good in this terrible organization.

As AJ put it so eloquently earlier, it is not the mouse that is the thief it is the hole. This organization clearly fills a need that these men and women feel has not been met by there community. Why waste time and effort condemning the mice when that energy would be put to better use filing holes?

I don't think anyone in the Frum mainstream who knows anything about the organization has that problem...
