Chase Credit Line Transfers
« on: February 10, 2011, 06:00:39 PM »
Current Chase cards:
CO Consumer Debit
CO Business Debit
CO Consumer OnePass Plus
CO Consumer Presidential Plus
Chase Freedom
UA Consumer

Just opened a new CO card and got a letter saying that they moved $10K credit limit from my CO PP card (bringing it down from $49K to $39K) to my new CO OP card.
Called up Chase and got my CO PP credit limit restored and had them close my UA card and move the credit from it to my new CO OP card.  Took all of 3 minutes.

What new credit card laws ;D

So should I got for my 3rd Sapphire Preferred, my 15th UA, or my 1st Hyatt card for my next Chase churn?

Out of curiosity, when was the last time you applied up for a chase CC?

There's an extra t in your post ;)

I'd say go for the Hyatt, you'll probably use it sooner than the UA miles (considering they're going to be merged with CO and you have lotsa CO already).

I had a similar situation recently: I opened another CO acct for a churn and they consolidated the two accounts automatically. Do I stand any chance of getting the miles?

Waiting for someone to say that :)
Hence the reason I said CO.

I closed down a card with a $ 1000 CL and apparently they cannot transfer less than 2k in credit!? Kinda annoying since every little bit of credit counts...

Sometimes you need to call more than once or send a secure message. The 2k limit you were told is not correct.

I don't think that 2k limit is true.

Do credit lines have to be fully paid up in order to transfer them?

Are there any particular cards that they won't transfer line to/from regardless?

For example charge cards to credit cards and vice versa (if they have any charge cards, of course)

I don't know the answer to your question but I can tell u that u can transfer from regular cc to a charge card. I recently transferred a cl from a consumer cc to a business charge card.

Do a search in the CC forum for Chase NPSL

Ink bold is a charge card.

A card with NPSL is not necessarily a charge card.
