Waltham - Boston Hyatt House mini TR
« on: September 10, 2015, 06:56:45 PM »
Due to some home renovation (spray insulation means we need to be out of the house due to fumes), we need to spend Shabbat in a hotel. Thanks to the Rite Aid promo last winter, I had two Premier - level Hyatt nights certificates. I also was able to use 7,000 HGPs for a third night.

I wrote a letter to the hotel manager in advance of our visit, explained that we are local, why we are staying, how we had some really terrific recent stays at other Hyatt properties (cincy and London), how I had admired the trip advisor reviews, our Shabbat and kosher concerns/needs, and how we wouldn't mind an upgrade from the 1br to a 2br suite.

I got a call less than an hour after I faxed my letter, saying they would upgrade me, would be happy to escort us to room to open the lock on Shabbat, and that they will notify the breakfast staff of our needs and try to make sure they have ample quantities of kosher certified items.

We just checked in tonight.  The suite is large.  Not anything fancy like the London Churchill or even the Cincinnati Hyatt Regency.  More like the Summerfield Suites that it used to be called. A little tired and sterile but clean and totally functional.  Great to have two BRs, two bathrooms and a decent size kitchennete. Some photos to follow, and then more report tomorrow after breakfast.  Go Pats!

King bedroom.

Its bathroom.

Double bedroom.

Living room.

Kitchennete

To be continued.

FWIW, the photos here are from my iPhone 5. Compare them to photos in my other recent TRs, which were from my (now my daughter's) iPhone 6.  Big difference.
