Old people don't like to fly to much, and when they do they need travel agents to find them flights.

I guess I'll do 300K. Big risk BA won't change their program.

Up until a few days ago, I thought I would transfer a lot. But when I realized that I have 60K BA currently and seeing how that would last me a while knowing how relatively rare I fly in general and even rarer that I fly domestically and don't use WN, that I just can't come to grips with losing a chunk of my MR.

you think there is a big chance BA will change their program? imagine flights from ny to Cleveland costing 20k instead of 9k miles

while that would def suck, it would still be great option as Ua is also 20k. Only other options are rev (cm) or WN which is from CAK and basically rev

For example, I recently booked a flight to TLV using 16300 CM points.  Because I booked it with CM points, I was eligible to receive UA points for the flight.  Meanwhile, if I'd have booked it with regular UA points, it would have been at least 80k points, add to that the 10k I would not have gotten, so 90k. 

That translates to value of 0.18 CM points per UA point.

I like the flexibility of the Avios that you dont have with CM points. Dont know about others, but  I have a hard time booking tickets in advance.
For me thats the real value. Back in my Pre DD days, by the time i was sure that i wanted to fly, the costs were prohibitive. granted, I learned a thing or two since then but still, I love the flexibility.
