Still using my 5 year old Vaio Z, but gotta say, Surface Book looks awfully nice.Never thought I'd say that about MS hardware!Anyone here getting one?
Is that the Pro 4 or something different?
Why get the Macbook copycat when you can get the real thing? Oh right. Some people actually like Windows.
Still when it comes to price I would go with the macbook because it can run windows if you want it to. while this will never be able to run OSX
The top of the display contains the main hardware (CPU, RAM and battery) while the base contains the GPU and ports.
Not only does the Surface Book look nothing like a macbook, it serves an entirely different purposethe screen part pops out of the base: https://youtube.com/XVfOe5mFbAE?t=1m29s (if you watch the full video you'll see how that works)Still when it comes to price I would go with the macbook because it can run windows if you want it to. while this will never be able to run OSX
I don't know if they're actually the first to do this, but I've been saying someone should do this forever:I'm talking about the idea of separating the components you'd care more about for mobile (and putting them in a laptop - or in this case a tablet) and the rest of the components that enhance a more stationary user experience in a separate desktop 'dock' (or in this case keyboard base).
It's crave worthy, no doubt. The real question is can they finally pull off a decent trackpad. It's the only thing no PC has ever gotten close to Mac on.
What happened to not buying 1st gen hardware?Based on the video I'd say hold off a year and see what else comes out.
What happened to not buying 1st gen hardware?
Why's that?
Same reason CR says not to buy a car in its first redesign year. It's usually buggy and the 2nd gen fixes those bugs and adds features requested by the early adopters.
I can hear that when it comes to software, does it apply to hardware as well?
