Transfering Starwood points to CO miles 1:1
« on: September 21, 2008, 09:47:05 PM »
Hi - I need Continental miles - Would it work if I transfer my starwood points to my wife - setup my starwood account to give me miles in continental and then transfer the points back to my account?
Obviously I would not get the 5000 mile bonus but it is much better then transferring at 2:1 ratio

Does anyone know if this will work?

Hi - I need Continental miles
No it would not work, you cannot setup your Starwoods card to give you miles by Continental. How many Continental miles do you need? maybe I can work something out with you.

Why do you need CO miles? Just transfer to the Skyteam partner with the best partner ticket rates for where you want to go.
Air France, Alitalia, Delta, Northwest, etc. all give 20,000:25,000.

From the latest I've seen Alitalia is being bailed out.
Regardless, as long as its ticketed for travel on continental it will be fine.
