It seems like the CSP is a good choice. I also like the recommendation of the Ink Plus as well if you can get approved for both. The IP also earns 2x on hotels.

Between both of them you could end up with 125K UR points.

Yup, that's why i recommended those two. He doesn't sound like a big churner, getting approved for both shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, but he is interested in United miles so UR are more useful.

he gets 33% more miles with the citi premier & he can always book via SQ for United... I would go the Citi Premier route.. + its a 50k signup offer vs 40+5k for the csp

I think he is interested in transferring points to combine with miles he already has with United, not just flying on United.

how is he getting to 125(k?) UR?
Bonus is now 60k & he needs to swipe $10k from what I read earlier

I am not a big churner. I have an 850 credit score and carry only 3 credit cards of which i only use 2 of them. the united explorer and the SPG Amex. I like the idea of the CSP and Ink Plus.

Will there be 2 credit pulls for each card? (I pride myself on perfect credit)

Do they both carry annual fees?

What is the threshhold for each to get the bonuses. will 5K and 5K on each cover to get the bonus?

Going forward I would likely only use the CSP card though, over the explorer card since no need to use both to get UR points (since i can transfer them to united later). I am also disciplined with my cards and hate having bills all over the place. Likely get the bonus on ink plus, transfer them to United or leave them and cancel the ink plus card (provided i dont lose the UR points accumulated on the ink card.

IP 60K bonus
$10K*2x = 20K

Total of 125K

Hotels are 2x on both the CSP and IP.

Correct, I have 200K united points now and 100K starwood. Will accumulate United points by transferring the UR points.

you can get a united business card for 50,000 & an ink for 60,000 bonus right now

never did the churn before. hate to hit my credit score. Prefer the CSP for long term use. So maybe that (for personal) and an IP Business card. Can you transfer IP UR rewards from a business account to your personal UA points?
