I tried using the code on my personal platinum, but it won't work. This is a relatively new card, about 3 months, never added to Amazon before. Any advice?

how do you unlink an account?

go to Shop with Points then unenroll and then go to Payment options and delete the card. repeat the same in opp order to add the card back..

No when you use pay with points you need to use the associated CC to pay the remaining balance.

Tried readding with a secondary card as I have "only" one MR card.
Got message "American Express'® records show that you are not authorized to redeem points on this Membership Rewards® account, so we're unable to register you for Shop with Points. Please contact American Express if you feel this information is in error or for information on redeeming rewards points by visiting www.americanexpress.com/?fs=y&opencontactus=5#."
Any workaround?

Update: This is only exclusively for orders ENTIRELY fulfilled and sold by Amazon.com for $50 or more. Having any items that aren't from Amazon.com in your cart will invalidate the promo, whether or not you have $50 of Amazon.com items in your cart.

Did you check the lower of the two little boxes in the upper left corner, above your name, on the card registration page?   That is the page to where DDMS post links.

That permits secondary card users.
