Priceline Express Deal - User Rating Didn't Match
« on: November 06, 2015, 10:13:17 AM »
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this.  I was looking for a single night and saw that there was a Priceline express deal in my price range for GVA.  It was listed as a 5*, 9+ user rating.   I reverse looked up what hotels this could be based on these stats and amenities and decided to book.  Once I booked the hotel was revealed as being a 5* with a user rating of 8.7.   I'm unsure if there is some fine print that I missed and of course I'm going to contact them regarding the misrepresentation but I'm wondering what I should seek for compensation, if anything.  I'm happy with the hotel and price so I don't really want to request a cancellation... but I do feel a little ripped off based on the lower than promised user rating.

Thoughts?

Denied any compensation, Priceline denied all wrongdoing via live chat and twitter and the offending deal is still listed.  4/13-4/14 Geneva Switzerland Express Deal for a 5*/9+ is the Le Richemond - Dorchester Collection, an 8.7.  Don't think i'm gonna take this any further since I'm fine with the booking.  Any consumer class action attorneys out there?

I just did an express deal and got stuck with a really crappy hotel the Avalon in Beverly hills for 200 a night.
I want to cancel but priceline is telling me they wont do it.

anybody have a good way of getting out of it?
I told the operator I'm allergic to dogs and its a pet friendly hotel if I see a poodle I can die.
he said well in the contract chapter 3.4 it states whatever hotel gets picked is picked.

Sorry to hear, but that's the name of the game.  If you were so averse to getting a less-than-desirable property, why did you book this way?

Or was the property misrepresented somehow?
