Google Domains
« on: November 22, 2015, 08:09:56 PM »
I figured I would go with them, as it seemed that they gave free gmail (with your custom domain with the purchase)

Now it seems they want to charge $5 a month >:( >:(

Any ideas?

Google Domains is $12 per year for a domain. You probably have Google Apps.

Cancel your apps and just leave your domains.

Google Apps for Domains was the free version, which is now unavailable for new signups. The paid version is Google Apps for Work, which is $5/month or $50/year per user.

You can transfer anytime to another provider, you won't need to pay a fee or for another year as your yearly domain was paid for already.( it transfers )

Office 365 is corporate minded but for a small business there's nothing wrong with google apps unless you're thinking so far in advance and don't want to deal with a migration if the business becomes that big

BTW its a flat $5 for Office 365
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

There's no need to transfer. You can sign up for mail or web services (for example) anywhere, and just point the MX or other relevant record to the new provider.

Actually just skimmed through the messages here.
Avoid GoDaddy at all costs!
Had hell with them, because they change some file structure rules, and I had to delete close to 100 GB of shiurei thorah etc...
Stay away !
