I'm flying to EY, and I want to stop in Poland to see Auschwitz and Krakow.  Suggestions on best way to do it?  Thanks.

There isn't really an easy way as Warsaw is like 4 hours away & Krakow doesn't have direct flights to NY. You can do a long stopover. Or fly with a stop to KRK & take a low cost carrier flight from KRK or KTW to TLV (they don't fly every day of the week. But they do. 1 used to have a flight Wednesday afternoon from KTW

Just came back from a trip to Poland for 5 days with 3 friends.
We had a great time.

Tickets
We flew from TLV-WAW.
I have some points with amex, so I booked myself with elal in J class 40k amex points (with platinum card) and earned some elal matmid.
The others booked with matmid 75 points each way with some fuel, came out in total $225 a ticket.  (was cheaper to book each way separately so the way back you get the fuel calculated in PLN)

Car rental
I booked on Kayak a SUV for $417 for 5 days.
The booking was with Hertz.
When I arrived I got an Audi Q5, I asked for an upgrade.
They said I deserve because I am a Presidential Plus Circle member (Through United club credit card) but I booked the highest class they don't have anything better.

Tuesday Night
We checked into Hilton, we paid 30k Hilton points per room, beautiful hotel.
(If you want to use the pool you need to wake up early as at night it's packed.)

Then we went to eat at Kosher delight. ($20)
He has a restaurant in Warsaw, Lodz and Krakow.
Milk and meat. (feel free to PM me for details)

Wednesday
We davened at Nożyk Synagogue, there's a minyan everyday at 7:15 (there's also a mikva that costs $10)
Ate breakfast at kosher delight ($10) and he packed us up sandwiches for lunch ($5).

Went to the Jewish History Museum in Warsaw very fascinating, they have audio guides in a lot of languages (including Hebrew)
We were there for 2 hours but there's a lot more to see.
Then we went to Gur to the cemetery of the Sefas Ames (was his yurtzeit that day) and Chidushei Harim, was a big minyan when we got there.
And then went to the old gerrer shul, it's closed but we took pictures outside. There's nothing to see inside anyways.
Then drove 3 hours to Lizenske and then drove 1:45 to Krakow.
Checked in to The Grand Sheraton, very nice hotel. We booked this for $76 a night (we stayed here 4 nights so we got 4th night free with Citi prestige on one of the rooms)
We got a nice upgrade to club rooms with a view over to the water.
Went to Kosher Delight ate supper and took sandwiches for breakfast and lunch for the next day.

Thursday
Left Hotel at 8:00 and was off to Zakopane!!!   (2 hour drive)
We booked "Snowmobile" for 10 am at snowdoo adventure.
Costed 250 PLN for each bike, they don't charge extra if someone sits in the back, so we did 2 and 2, so only costed each of us 125 PLN for the hour.
We were driving most of the time on 60-70 km/h  and at some points we reached 100 km/h
You don't need a licence for this. We had a crazy time here.
We wanted to do Husky Sledging, but after this Snowmobile it didn't interest us, as we saw them on the way going very slowly so we skipped it.
We wanted to go up the highest mountain with the cable car, but we couldn't find it, after driving around a hour we just went to Nosal, where we booked ski lessons.
There's a lot of mountains in Zakopane, but we chose Nosal because it has very easy slopes for beginners.

First we were sledging down the mountain, costed 10 PLN to rent a sledge.
Then we went to put on the ski equipment. 35 PLN for 4 hours.
Teacher costed 160 PLN for 4 people per hour, we booked it for 3 hours.
Ski pass on the chair lift costs 60 PLN for 30 times, if you don't use it up they will refund you what's left.
We had a great time, after 3 hours we all managed to ski down the slope by ourselves, we stayed another hour after the teacher left.

Then we drove back to Krakow went to eat at KD and back to Hotel.

Friday
Davened in Izaac shul and ate breakfast upstairs at KD.
Then went to the Remu shul and to the Old cemetery in the yard of the shul.
Then went to the new cemetery (מאור ושמש)

Went to the old town and rented Segway's for a hour (110 PLN) with a tour guide, he took us around all over and explained a lot to us.

Sunday
Went to Auschwitz-birkenau, a must see for every adult.
Then drove back to Warsaw for our flight back at 10 pm, ELAL canceled the flight so we stayed over night in Warsaw and went through Vienna in the morning.
We didn't have kosher meals on the flight because it was booked less then 24 hours so I got someone to bring us breakfast to the airport, it worked out very well.

Now I need to fight it out with ELAL to get back money on the hotel and food that costed us extra...

Nice!

I have 10 hrs in Warsaw on the way to TLV and 8 hrs on the way back.

I just bought the all inclusive tickets for museum/shul/cemetery, and figured I'll do museum first and rest on the way back.

Make sense?

what's about a report of the שבת in Krakow?

Sorry for skipping that part.

We stayed in The Grand Sheraton, they knew all about shaboss so they took us up the steps and let us into our rooms.

In Isaac shul was a big  group of lelov, so we went to Remu shul they needed a minyan.
Then we ate at KD ($25) lelov was in the big room and we got a private room.

We had a beautiful seuda 3.5 hours, and then walked back to Sheraton, I was worried that it maybe too far, but it's only 15 minute walk, and if you are buckled up good, it's a real oneg shabbos the walk.
We actually had nice weather 1-2 degree.

Morning davened again in Remu, after the seuda we went around to see all the shuls, some are open on shabbos as a museum and charge money, but we went in quickly and got to see it, by the time they came to send us out, we saw it all.
We walked to wawel castle (next to the Sheraton) and walked around the water.
And then was already mincha.

Motza shabbos we went to the ghetto, there's a big empty place where they put now chairs, to show there was once people here but now the chairs are empty....
Then we went back to hotel and had the pool, sauna and gym all for us.

We had club access in the Sheraton because I am a Gold member, it was very handy.
We had fruits and drinks free the whole time.
