Kevarim
Jewish cemetery near the Old Powazki. Established in 1809, it is one of the largest Jewish cemeteries in the world. Spread over an area of nearly 44,000 square feet (3160 square meters), the cemetery was left largely intact by the Nazis and includes the graves and tombs of a quarter of a million people, including the great Rabbanim of Warsaw as well as many secular giants in literature and the arts.

The Jewish Ghetto
The infamous Warsaw Ghetto, the scene of the only organized uprising.
On the left side of the Praga River, where the Ghetto used to be, you can visit several monuments commemorating the Jews of Warsaw, including the Monument over the Ghetto Heroes at Zamenhof Square, and Umschlagplatz, a memorial raised at the very spot where Warsaw Jews were gathered in 1943, loaded on cattle wagons and transported to the death camp at Treblinka. It is still possible to see how Jews lived in Warsaw ulica Prozna, a street left largely intact from before the Holocaust.

Don't all airports put your luggage in a designated area if you don't pick it up? Why do you want to leave it at the airport anyway?

rent a car. I posted a phone number in my pessach trip report. Like  $30 a day.

Eta- " When I got to Warsaw the local shliach introduced me to a small local rental company where I managed to negotiate an amazing price for a 2 week rental. With all taxes, fees and insurance included I paid $27 a day for an automatic ford focus plus a mandatory $300 down payment. If anyone wants to rent from thme call Paul at (+48) 608-461-444. As a side note I know a lot of rental companies outside the US try to rip you off on the down payment and damage claims these guys didn’t even look at the car when I returned it they were really mentchen and I highly recommend them." If you have an android and want a great gps app pm me.

iy"h going to auschwitz in the AM. it says online that admission is free and if your without a tour in the summer than you have to come after 3 pm or you can join a tour before for a fee 38 PLN ($11.50) and it lasts 4 hours.
im wondering if its a must to go with a tour guide or can i go around myself. im not a fan of tours, but if ill walk around not knowing a thing thats going on ill do it. and is 4 hours a lot ? sounds like it.

what about birkenau camp?

secondly, regarding Krakow, ive been to the main shuls and cemetary, and half the castle. what else is reccomended?

Surprisingly I would actually suggest a tour 1. because its so cheap and 2. It will give you a more authentic feel then just walking though some grass... As for birkenau it's a mile walk away MUST go! You can see the crematoriums and it's just a must see. I was more affected by there then Auschwitz for reasons.
