Very informative.

Curious what will happen once it spreads to NYC. Will people start to travel to places they stopped traveling to because it appears anyways?
Will people from areas not effected (like YYZ) stop traveling to NYC?
Depends if any zika vaccines and/or zika mosquito pesticides prove to be effective over the next 3/4 year

He's talking about Mosquitoes, not Zika per se.
Even so, how did mosquitoes travel so far?

Mosquitoes didn't. People did.

Mosquitoes didn't. People did.
There were cases of people being infected in Thailand, not people who caught it elsewhere.

Local mosquitoes aquire the virus by feeding on the blood of an infected person (that acquired it while traveling) and then spread it locally.

FWIU that isn't proven yet. Nonetheless, if that argument explains how you can get Zika in Thailand, then it certainly explains how you can get it on an island in MLE.

I went to donate blood tonight, and was deemed ineligible due to having been in Miami in the past 4 weeks. First time I've missed in a while...
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Interesting why they only said 4 weeks.

I had understood that the type of mosquito that carries Zika needs a certain climate making it next to impossible for the process ofa mosquito that can carry it to bite a human who's infected and then go bite another human to happen in NY & NJ or most of the US for that matter... as such mosquitos don't live in those climates...

Sounded like any symptoms would've manifested themselves by then.

Except most people don't have any symptoms...

Did not know that, thanks. Still makes sense for MLE to have gotten Zika cases.

I have heard right now that Boca Raton is zika-free.
Any chance that if we book tickets (I think Delta) and then Zika moves there, they'll refund us?

Is this true about $ and/or points with Jetblue?
