He blames his inferiority feelings amongst yeshiva guys on their elitist attitude.

Meh.

There's definitely a crises.
But if people would have less gaavah, and just go to a school that would take them it would also help.
Did he mention this?

Go try to get your daughter into a normal high school in Israel as a working American. Then come back to Lakewood to complain.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

There are perfectly charedi families in Yerushalayim (not just Har Nof) that are getting their boys into normal yeshivas (although also no walk in the park) and hit a brick wall when they start working on their perfectly normal, acclimated, in-Israeli-school-from-birth daughters.

I know plenty of these families I know what they go through
I'm not saying its normal but the reason behind it is different

Let me explain with a true story:
Im in a Lakewood park a few months ago, I observe two families;
1)The father is wearing skin-tight black jeans, a pink lacoste shirt, a small black yalmuka. The wife is sitting on a bench with a shaital almost waist length, a bright colored tight top and a short skirt with sandals, no socks.-Both are busy on their iphones. The three boys standing by the lake were advised by their mother to remove their yalmukas so they would not fall in water. With their matching "mushroom" style hair cuts and non jewish clothing, at first I thought the kids where non jews...
2) During bein hasdorim, the father with a black bushy beard, a threadbare suit and a sefer in hand pushes his yingelach in the swing- their peyos flying, while he pushes a second hand stroller. the wife is hard at work teaching in a local beis yakov.
This is lakewood today and this is why kids who come from families that have radically different priorities dont go to the same school school.
Are there any questions?

Is why the demand for an open door policy is ridiculous.

Lakewood is a mixed town. - It ranges from very modern to ultra spiritual.

Why can't the yeshiva families who choose not to live in flatbush/ 5 towns because they wanted to focus more on the spirituality, be allowed to be mechanech their children in which ever way they want? Without being forced to bring up their kids in "a big city".

That's exactly what I want to know.  I know absolutely nothing about the school situation in Lakewood, but I still enjoyed the speech.  What types of kids/families are not being let into what types of schools?

They wouldn't waste their time trying...

I posted the extreme example, but the point is that generally speaking, accepting kids by family type is not necessarily "gaavah".
Fwiu, rechnitz is demanding an open door policy where any " shomer shabbos " can get it.
This is simply unrealistic and IMHO wrong.
