I dropped my phone in water for just a couple of seconds. It barely looked wet and it never shut down so I didn't remove battery/ turn off. A little later the phone shut off.

Will drying it out still help (I have it in instant rice right now)?

Does anyone have a cheap/ old 4G Page Plus (Verizon) phone I can borrow or buy? (I am in NY, heading to Lakewood sometime tomorrow.)

Leave it there overnight, it might help.

Not 48 hours like mentioned upthread?  I really need the phone sooner unless I can get a loaner phone but I don't want to rush it if it will just make things worse.

Overnight minimum. The longer you leave it, the bigger chance you got.

This implies that two days in rice didn't work and you only got it to work after you put it on a fan.

Knock the phone against your hands so the water should come out through the holes (speaker, charging port etc.).

I saw somewhere that instant rice works  better. I think most people just use regular rice.

I left my phone in the rice for 12 hours (it didn't get very wet) then I turned it on.
At first it didn't seem to work but now it works although the speaker seems to be broken.

I ended up using a different battery as the first time I tried with the battery that got wet it didn't work.

Why dont you blow dry the speaker?
