I left my iPhone in rice for 2 days until motzei shabbos and my phone works! But the screen is very water damaged  :(
Shut it for another 2 days.   My wife had that and the water in the screen slowly went away

I did that and a lot of the water damage went away, but there still is substantial water staining... but at least I have a working phone...

glad to hear.  maybe give it some more time. if it did not ruin the screen then maybe it can still dry and go away

Leave it someplace warm with good airflow for a few days. Water should evaporate.

for next time. if it gets wet with anything but water (and even when its just water preferably), get it to a technician ASAP to open and dry out.  acid/etc can erode

Just a note about using rice to dry out a phone.
Those packets of 'desiccant' that keep things dry during shipping work too.  Perhaps even better.  I'm taking about those little packets that come in pocketbooks and shoe boxes, etc.  Don't throw them away. Save them for when something gets wet. The packets can be warmed in an oven (at 150F ?) to get them dried out to work again.

Or you can just microwave it on high with your phone for 60 seconds  ;)

Instant rice? Since regular rice has been debunked time and time again. Air-dry wins.

Better than air dry, is putting it where water will be drawn out of it.
So rice, 'desiccant' or warm, dry area works better than just waiting.
