Can book using someone else and add yourself as a guest but it's a bit risky officially you won't get any benefits unless the ah checks in as well but depends on how strict hotel is with that policy.
Best bet is either pool the 2 accounts or Hilton let's u transfer 500k a year and receive 2m a year for free

That can only used when logged into the account the stay was booked out of. If you are booking out of someone else's account, you will not be able to use it unless you log into their account on your phone.

-1 You can book using someone else's points and issue the reservation in your name(gift). There will be no trace off the AH on the reservation. Has to be booked over the phone.

I've been to hotels where they've honored status even when booked that way.

Is there a difference in the type of room upgrade/odds of getting an upgrade for a gold vs diamond member? This would be at a Waldorf.
