Hilton is dropping Citi :)not the other way around, you should get the free night for spending the $10k before 12/31.
Thanks,  do you think I should call Citi or Hilton come 01/18?

Ill call Hilton and Citi now to verify , just to be on the safe side before doing the spend, ask them to send you an email so youll have it handy if they did not send you the free e certificate on time.

called hilton for something and they told me i have one free weekend cert on file

what it is for? it seems to be issued about a month after i matched to diamond, on the day i redeemed some points, but no idea what it is for.

anyway, CSR said i have to book it by expiry, but could stay later, is that correct?

I tried to use this cert and now they told me it's not available. Does Hilton issue a cert when you redeem points for a room? Maybe my cert is just a room redemption which I used?

Is it possible to book Hilton points while not having the points in the account?
I'm Waiting for a transfer to go thru, could I book now on cash and convert later to points?

I don’t see why not. They bill to your room just like any other spa, food or room cost.  I paid these fees with my Surpass and got 12ppd.

What is the best points to transfer to Hilton?
I am planning to book 2 night in Hilton Metropole, London (Dec 25-27) and only have points for 1 night (around 90K points). I can also ask them to combine my wife's 15K point, but it is still not enough for second night.

Any suggestions/recommendations?

TIA,
Oleg

Is there any way to know when Hilton raises the award rate on hotels besides actually checking each hotel?

I don’t think so, especially since they are now tied to pricing too so if the pricing goes down the rate can go down. I rebooked a recent reservation 3 Times and saved over 20% from my first rate.

Down I understand, but isn't there an official maximum cap?

I think they do an annual announcement of what hotels chanced categories but now that you mention it Dan and/or Lucky usually do a post on it and I haven’t seen one...

Now that we are allowed to transfer Hilton points, would it be a problem for an in-law to transfer me their points so I can book a reservation for them? I am a Diamond and they're Gold, the main benefit would be a better/upgraded room. I have booked for them before with no problem, but only using my own points.

Would a transfer and subsequent booking with them as the additional guest trigger any flags or is it acceptable under T+Cs?

Thank You!
Mike
