Hilton Diamond VIP match
« Reply #5 on: December 06, 2009, 02:26:50 PM »
I am not sure if this was posted already but I didn't see it.  I called Hilton today and talked with customer service and they told me that they are honoring a status match with other hotels.  They will upgrade you to Diamond status if you can show comparable status with another chain.  They do ask you to fax in a statement showing that you have actual stays and not just a trial membership.

Send fax to Member Services, subject: Diamond upgrade request.  Fax 972-788-1818

Hope this helps someone.

I think they want to see that you earned the status at the other chain with actual stays.  So however many stays it takes to get highest level at SPG or Hyatt or whichever chain you stay at.

I have 160,000 Hilton points, now that they devalued by their recent changes, is the AA promotion* the best I can do with them? or are there sometimes betters transfer offers? In general what can I do with these Hilton points?

I already have the card.

What is the lowest it can be in points? (in a real world for any Hilton product)

How many points are you talking about?

Any activity will keep them alive...

Stay at a Hilton property, redeem points, sign up for the Hilton HHonors CC, buy points (I think $12.50 for 1000), transfer from Amex, transfer from AA, car rental, HHonours Shopping, HHonors Dining, e-rewards (min $25-1000 points), transfer points to another HHonors account, receive points, etc...

Its not a lot. Just a shame for them to go to waste. Whats the min on AA transfers?
