Wow. Anyone want me to call recon for them? $25 per approval  ;)

It might not go well if you called for me, but it would be totally worth it if you called for my husband.

I could have my wife call as you and give them authorization to speak to me. But would have to charge more for that.  ;D

inquiries

-1. You don't know how many cards came out of one inquiry. He will need to check the actual amount of new accounts in that time frame.

He wanted to know how many applications.

OPs original question was where he can see how many cc's he opened in the last 2 years.

Do chase biz cards count in 5/24? Meaning if you have 4 regular cards and 2 chase biz cards do they see that as 4 or 6? Given that (IIRC) they don't show up on your CR the question is whether chase takes them into account during approval.
PS. I'm not asking for conjecture (I'd imagine most people will say "for sure yes") but for someone that knows, either through experience or by asking chase.

If that Chase business card isn't showing up on your CR, they will still see the pull and may reject you on the grounds of too many inquires.

They can see the account too. Chase doesn't need a credit report to know how many other chase accounts you have.

That's a lot less of an issue than a new account in the 5/24 scheme of things. Besides, the effect of pulls is often a debatable matter, at least when you have not done anything crazy.

They can see the account too. Chase doesn't need a credit report to know how many other chase accounts you have.
Understood, but that is pure conjecture though. The question is only how the automatic system calculates the number 5. My initial feeling would be that it would be determined based purely on your CR as that's what they're actually looking at immediately when you apply.

The automated system may not see it, but if you have to call recon, they will.

I think it's rather naive to assume that Chase doesn't take its own data into account when deciding on an application for credit.

The automated system may not see it, but if you have to call recon, they will.
I agree, but there lies the real point of the question: will it trigger (pretty much an automatic) no or will it be a recon issue, easier to get around if it's not actually counted in the 5/24 (almost) "hardcoded" rule.

I agree as well, and that's why I'm specifically asking in terms of the automatic system.

chase once denied a biz card application due to the fact that I had a starwood business card for that business already with enough available credit, so they were definitely pulling some sort of business credit report.

If one of my 5 cards is a biz (amex) card will that be a issue?  Is it part of the 5/24 rule?
