thanks that would also mean if i add an AU it wont count towards 5/24 for them if they are still under limit correct?
I'm not sure exactly what you mean but I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

They are 2 separate entities: You can get the card if you are over 5/24. It will still count towards 5/24. (that being said you can get the AU removed off the CR or you can get a reon rep to not count the AU but you most likely will not get an automatic acceptance)

yes but you can get it removed to make them back to 3/24. But it is better not to add them.

yes. 5/24 means that you had ANY 5 credit cards in the past 24 months showing on your credit report. Just take a look at your credit report and you will have all your answers,

5/24 applies to any 5 cards listed on your CR as opened within 24 months.
That applies to AUs as well. (recon generally will ignore it, if you say you aren't responsible)
Now, some chase cards don't fall under 5/24 as in you can get approved even over 5/24.
Those cards are no different for effecting 5/24, only for approval.

5/24 applies to any 5 cards listed on your CR as opened within 24 months.
Except cards that only work for a specific store.

The AS will decline you, and like an AU you can have recon ignore it.

Any DP on when the 24 months end? Is it 2 years to the date of the cards being opened?

Nothing solid.
It appears that if they pull Chase for you it is the beginning of the month, as experian reports Date open the 1st if the months, while some may do the beginning of the next month.

From reddit: I'm not saying this is wrong, but it's still premature. Each DP has its problems:
DP1 "denied for too many cards when I called" That's too vague
DP2 "Not able to recon." You absolutely can recon a 5/24 denial. This denial is more consistent with Chase's "too many requests for credit" which you can't recon.
DP3 "too many credit cards with in the past 48 months" 48 months?
DP4 "phone status changed to 7-10 days" We don't know the reason for denial or even if it IS a denial
DP5 "called the status line this morning, says 7-10 days" Same as DP4
I just found a new supply of forks!
