It's a credit card up to the credit limit of the card after that it's a charge card

I made a large purchase at a office store that codes for chase, bank of america, and capital on as office supplies and on my simply cash coded as merchandise ans supplies-wholesale stores......Anyway I can take it up with amex or nothing to do?
