HTC One M10
« on: March 04, 2016, 06:03:44 PM »
Anyone else bummed that it seems they got rid of the front facing speakers?
Seems so trivial but I've gotten so used to have excellent sound coming from my mobile.

(Wish they made a smaller Nexus 6p. Awesome front facing speakers on that as well )

I had the m8 and loved it, one of the reasons being  the speakers. I've moved onto the droid turbo 2 which is great and it has a front facing speaker as well.

The speakers are better than the ones on the HTC M7. Can't speak for the M8 and M9 because I don't own them.

I'm glad. Can't wait to hear em. Excited about this device.
Wish they would open up pre-orders for Sprint/Verizon already.

Yeah, I'm finding it to be a very good all around phone.

How's the battery life? Are you using a GSM model?

CDMA. Seems decent. According to Anandtech slightly better than Galaxy S7. Quick Charge 3.0 charger included. That definitely helps when I need a quick charge. I am using a test model that has logging apps draining the battery but still lasts through the day easily.

I'm enjoying it so far. I can't stand Samsung's and especially LG's UI. And LG's junk software writing. G4 anyone?

Mine is on its way. I'm interested in the upcoming Nexus and Moto X but unless they make smaller versions I'll prob stick with the HTC.

Sure thing. The Nexus has been getting discounts. If you can manage with the 128GB version and don't mind the size it's an excellent device. Wish HTC would have stayed with front facing speakers.

The size is not the biggest issue.
I just dont want to shell out cash if i can get a phone on verizon with an upgrade and trade in my old one.
And i still like the freedom of an sd card.
htc still has front facing but its just one on top now, still prefer the new setup of the speakers since the front is much nicer and the phone is not that tall

IME the new speakers are great. According to objective testing,  the 10 has the best audio processing available in a phone today.

Only been using it a couple days now but the HTC 10 seems like a great upgrade. I skipped out on the M9 because I didn't think it offered much more than the M8, plus my device was still going strong. Can barely notice a difference in hand compared to the HTC One M8 but the screen is larger. They have also brought back capacitive buttons adding more screen room.  Finally having a fingerprint sensor is nice. Speakers aren't as loud as the M8 but def sound better. Phone runs super smooth as all my previous HTC devices have. HTC has cut down on a lot of the bloatware and its UI is pretty close to pure Android which I love. Phone feels really nice in the hand. Buttons are great. Cameras seem excellent. Battery life gets me through a day with heavy use. HTC has thrown in some nice options to personalize your device. Really digging the new Freestyle themes.  Not much else. Works smooth, fast and feels great. I've used 3 different HTC devices in the past and I love how durable they are. I don't use a case and have never had any issues when the phones dropped besides for a scratch or two. But HTC devices do come with a one time replace the screen or water damage device, so that's nice.

The Nexus 6p is my favorite device on the market but the HTC 10 is just a better size for me and comes in at a close second.

I too have the HTC 10 for a couple of days and I really love it! Reminds me of my m8 which was one of my favorite devices. Would def recommend it over an s7 any day!

Anyone looking to upgrade from an M8 - only 'cons' I've noticed so far is that the screen tends to attract fingerprints- something I never had on my M8 and has a slight glare in the sunlight. Again, something that I never had on the M8.

Otherwise it's great device.

Only noticing it when outdoors.  Still prefer my m8 for various reasons but it's def a nice upgrade.
I miss HTC Gallery and I also liked this HTC internet app. Would have been nice to have them available for download in the store still.
