If you don't care about your 5/24 number then you won't get approved for CFU3X anyway.
Therefore it's a moot point.
If you do care about 5/24 then it's only worthwhile if you're a big everyday spender.
I appreciate the response and I agree with what you said. The only problem is you completely ignored my question.

The best approach IMO which is my approach is to hit cards hard yourself and try your hardest to get and keep your wife under 5/24 (just in time to get CFU :) )

I will stop, just one last question
Someone that wants a simple plan , no signing up for csp/csr same day no calling recon no activating categories every 3 months no remembering to call and pc....etc
Basically a banks dream customer
What would you recommend for a a spender of 10k 15k and up ? Because this imo is 90% of the population.
Give me you’re answer what is better than this and I will be happy
Because so far no one gave me one

first you say opening up two cards is not a problem so I offer you a plan that gets a lot more points then you say opening 2 cards is no good only opening 1 card so davidrotts63 offers his idea which is better than yours and now you say opening 2 cards are fine. So which is it? You're getting me dizzy.  If two cards are fine do what I said if only card is fine then do what davidrotts63 said

2 cards is simple enough if you don’t have to call to pc or downgrade imo
You’re free to disagree

I just remembered something that makes a difference; Chase recently hasn't been letting downgrading the Sapphires during the first year, so in the calculations we have to consider all spend for the CSP after 4k as 1ppd if getting CSP SUB.

That would make:
CSP - 24K spend: 55K/4K(50K SUB+5K AU)+20K/20K= 75K
CFU - 24K spend: 72k (@3ppd)+2.5k (AU) =74.5k

So it would take about 25k non-bonus spend during the first year to come out ahead with the CFU.

IINM. More often then not they aren't allowing, which IMO is enough to apply as if they won't allow.

I downgraded a Sapphire in the first year with no problems what so ever
