Any ideas for a quick award flight from nyc for one day (thursday) or even include one night?  To miami seems pretty expensive

A lot actually. How close and how big? There's a small park with trails right over the George Washington bridge. Interstate park lookout. Nice trails. Or Paterson falls in NJ. Or lake minnewaska in upstate NY. Etc.

Bear Mountain? It's 1-2 hours away and pretty big. Not sure how it compares to Bushkill, maybe someone that's been to both can compare (and I'm sure you can read reviews online).
