Hi all,
When I was 6, my father and grandfather took me on my first fly-in fishing trip in Northern Ontario, Canada. It was something they did often when my father was a child growing up in Wisconsin. I was blessed to experience several such trips during my youth.
The accommodations were rustic. It was roughing it.
Now that my kids are 5 and 7, I would like to plan a trip for next summer. However, my wife would not enjoy minimal accommodations.
I am looking for a first-class 5-star fishing lodge in Wisconsin, Minnesota or Ontario that is family friendly. Perhaps 5 star is a reach, but you get what I'm saying.
Walleye and Northern Pike are my preferred game and lake fishing is my preferred venue. Hence why I am seeking the central part of the continent and not the eastern or western, although they are not out of the question. Salmon is good too.
We live in S. Calif. Using hotel points with one of the majors would be great but not necessary.
Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?
