Cancelling/Porting in Middle of Billing Cycle
« on: June 05, 2016, 06:36:59 PM »
I finished my two year contract with Sprint post-paid, so there are no early-termination fees if I cancel or port out my number.

If I port out my number to a different carrier in the middle of the billing cycle, will I get billed for the whole month from Sprint or only up until the day I ported out my number?

I'm hearing conflicting reports about this.

Does anyone know or have experience?

Thanks.

If you close down the line, you get charged till the end of the month.
If you port out, you get charged pro-rated

That does not make any sense. Why would I pay for a whole month on post paid if I didnt use it?

:)

As I wrote in my original post -

"I'm hearing conflicting reports about this."

In other words, different Sprint reps are saying different things.

Hence, I'm asking for people's experiences.

Typical sprint

Actually, I was with them for a while and was very happy.

I'm only thinking of switching due to much cheaper pre-paid plans.

However, on this point I'm hearing different things.

Yes with sprint everything is conflicting! once you port or cancel, its your luck who deals with it for you or you can call after and its pure luck who you get and physically enter the info
I personally got lucky i dont recall if i needed a supervisor but it was prorated

I'm with sprint and want to cancel, and port out. What's the cheapest option for porting out if I don't mind losing this phone number?
