Entry/Security/Storm/Screen Doors
« on: June 06, 2016, 02:33:35 PM »
I'm looking to redo the entrance to my house. So far I've done some very preliminary research into the different types of exterior/entry doors and security/storm/screen doors, but I'd love to hear from someone who has done this already. How did you select which type (other than aesthetics)? Did you buy from a place that installs it, install it yourself, or have a separate contractor/handyman install it?

Can anyone recommend a decent storm/screen door for around $100? TIA

FYI, I ended up getting an Andersen 2500 series full view with self storing insect screen. Not really in your price range, but I wouldn't recommend anyway. In theory it's great, but because of the retractable screen, you can only really put a door closer at the bottom, and it lends itself to issues with the frame bending.

Anyone have a solution to automatically close a sliding glass patio door?

You could get a commercial solution. What does your local grocer use?

Idk but I feel like anything else would be an As Seen On TV product. Not much of a market for home use.
