Anyone with experience with kiwi.com
« on: June 06, 2016, 09:29:25 PM »
My FIL was on kayak and got linked to kiwi.com
Got an email immediately that they would send confirmation later. A few hours later got confirmation email.
Following morning got email and phone call saying they made a mistake on his reservation and he needs to fax in his passport to complete.
Sounds extremely shady. How could they make a mistake-isn't the whole process automated? And why would they need his passport?
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Don't know about the passport thing, but there certainly seem to be very mixed reviews of the company online.

Does he have an airline confirmation #?  Does the airline have his reservation?

BUMP.

Anyone have actual experience with flights booked through Kiwi.com and flown?

They are showing fares lower than other OTA. Sounds too good to be true.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Are there multiple segments on different airlines?

One way, single segment, JetBlue!

Has anyone ever tried this site.
There are some concerns.
They claim to guarantee the connections but what happens if you miss a connection and you are in a foreign airport.
I am specifically thinking about using the site to purchase a JFK to TLV flight. (RT) They have some very long connections with one or two stopovers... Their prices are usually the lowest.
Thanks.

I’m having a very similar situation regarding passports: booked 3 round trip tickets and then went back online to book a one way for a fourth traveler (his return is going somewhere else) and it wouldn’t let me book him alone bc he’s a minor an had I known this fact I would have just booked one of the other travelers alone!

The biggest problem is the customer service people (all of them- I spoke to many) have absolutely no idea how to clearly explain what they want me to do!

Something to do with speaking with the other dept. to allow a link to our existing reservation etc. etc.

And now I got an email saying they need a copy of his passport- but I don’t know why bc we didnt even book anything yet..so I’m not sure what to do..

What’s the next best option?

Can I dispute the charge on my cc if it doesn’t work out?

Why don't you book the child as an adult?

Dispute on what basis?

But wouldn't work if they make you fax / email a passport (unless you photoshop).
Or if you can get away with saying you don't have the passport yet (or its at a consulate waiting for a visa or something).

WE ACTUALLY DONT HAVE HIS PASSPORT YET!! it’s expired an it’s coming soon !! So we emailed the expired passport just to see what would happen and they responded that the passport is expired !
Thank you very much!! >:(

Emailing an expired passport is useless (counter+intuitive). They still have the DOB on there..

At the airport? He'll be with the rest of the group, no? They just scan it and update whatever is in the record.

ok this is a good idea

When I type in the date of birth online and it’s 2 yrs older than the passport how will anything connect the inconsistencies? It doesn’t say his age on the boarding pass does it?
