Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Im a little unsure over here as iv read conflicting reports. Im now 90 days after my Sapphire Reserve AF has hit, if i am to downgrade to the "no-fee" Sapphire card now will my $450 fee be prorated and partially refunded or since its after 30 days i am automatically on the hook for all of it, whether i downgrade or cancel...TIA
Downgrade will get prorated.

Occasionally they allow Marriott. YMMV.

I'm getting confused with the changes to the AF calculator. Since I'm grandfathered under the original terms of the travel credit, if I got hit with the AF in October, I can now spend the $300 for my 2018 card member year and then downgrade and get the AF refunded?

When did you get the card?

Around when it first came out. Believe it was Sept/October 2016

So to get the most of it use the TC when it resets in December downgrade the card within 30 days and it will be prorated.

So to get the most of it use the TC when it resets by anniversary, and downgrade card within 30 days of AF posting, or after 30 days it be prorated.

That's what I thought, but for some reason it wouldn't reset my TC until December which is why I didn't understand how it was working anymore

Yes, I made a mistake if you have it since then it resets once you December statement closes, then you can use it and cancel it.

i just checked on my chase's account' it says i"ve only used $35 of $300. so here's my question, is it possible that this already from the new year? if not is it still possible to take advantage being that my closing date is 12/18?

CSR uses statement date for travel credit. so if your Dec statement closed on 12/18, then $35 is from 2018.
