Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

So if airfare and hotels dont count, what does count?
I may be wrong, but I think you misunderstood the question. The initial questions/answer is would spending on travel that gets reimbursed count towards the $4k for the bonus, not if it will qualify for reimbursement.
can airfare or hotel rooms be used toward the 4k spending threshold?
Of course. If you are asking if the money spent towards the $300 credit counts, most people are saying that it probably will but that you shouldn't risk it.

I assume in branch pre-approvals won't have this language on them. Kind of like how some AmEx targeted offers don't have their limiting language. Should make it easier to know with Chase!

Guys, listen up, I still haven't seen any real data that CPC does anything. Many people have reported getting approved instantly online and in branch while being over 5/24 without CPC.

Now if someone would come with a story that he was over 5/24 and was declined for that reason and his banker overturned the decision because of his PC status that would be data.  Until then I don't wanna hear any talk about CPC.

You want a story? Fine.

Applied for CSR.  Declined for 5/24. Then another hard decline after recon for 5/24. Then my CPC banker called and got me approved (though it did take some pushing).

Tada...

How does the Global Entry reimbursement timing rule work with AU cards? It's once every 4 years but what If I take out an AU card in someone else's name? Does it go by the name on the AU card or the number of total AU cards? Also, is the $75 fee prorated if I close the AU card after a month?

For example, get the card for me and one AU card for wife. Apply for 2 Global Entry applications for me and wife. Close the AU card. Open another AU card with son's name on it, shortly thereafter. Apply for global entry for son. Close AU card and rinse repeat for more applications.

Would that work?

So basically it's not enough just to get CPC, you have to be ready to nudge your CPC banker to push through a measly credit card app.. (After all your tales of transferring a million next week ;)

I didn't mean I pushed the CPC, but rather the CPC pushed lending rep.

The CPC bankers usually aren't rolling in the dough themselves. Retail banking sucks. They get almost as excited for a couple of bank accounts as we do for a credit card.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

For them its all about Savings and Investment Account growth. CCs get them close to nothing according to the CPC I spoke to yesterday.

Now the question is, does CPC help with the new language on the application.

New language isnt that new in terms of them applying it. It just means that they put their T&C where their mouth is. Should still be the same.

Of course. If you are asking if the money spent towards the $300 credit counts, most people are saying that it probably will but that you shouldn't risk it.
what i meant was if i book a hotel room will that count towards the 4k i need to spend? can i cancel the room after a few months and still keep the points?
