Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I applied on 8/23 and got rejected due to 5/24 (approved for 2 other cards on that pull and may have maxed out my CL with chase, as one card got 25k and other only 5k.) How long due CPC privileges take to kick in? IF I open a joint checking with family member who is CPC today- can i call RECON 2nite or tomorrow which is before 30 days?? Will they pull credit again?and what are my odds? TIA
Supposedly they're cracking down on the cpc shtick so ymmv . However it will be a 2nd pull

thanks. I guess it can't hurt to have CPC though...at worst it could help for future instant approvals

if you have a joint with a bona fide CPC that is FULLY within their terms, and even a featured benefit on their site. Maybe u mean cracking down on the ppl getting CPC thru their banker without having the funds?

Does one call Chase to move credit limit around first or wait and do so when requesting reconsideration?

I remember reading up thread about someone in a similar situation, but it sounded like since he stopped the cc game he was under 5/24. And therefore had an easy time getting approval, even tho him+wife were closed by chase couple years ago. The question is are u under 5/24?
yes I am under 5/24

Never thought of it
I'm wondering if most people have thought about it

In NY people who take the train spend around $200 per month

Tolls for Bridges or tunnels spend double that

Quote from Dan on DDMS "You also will earn 900 points from the $300 of travel spending even though Chase refunds it. That’s another $13.50 of free travel just for using the $300 annual free travel benefit!"

They took back from me 300 points from the travel credit, you still get 600 points but not 900
