Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Interesting how you changed your post from a question to a statement based on an assumption.

I didn't ask any questions — at least not any non-rhetorical ones — so it's unclear to what you're referring.

I haven't posted anything incorrect, so your need to "correct" me is rather odd.

I just applied, and got a "We need to review your application a little longer". I am CPC, should I do anything or wait for the verdict?
I apologize if this was answered upthread, I tried looking and got tangled up in the sniping that seems to have overcome most DDF Threads over the last few days.

With Chase, almost always best to wait it out.

Did you call the app-status line? If so, did it tell you 30 days, 14 days, or 7 to 10 days?

30 days is generally a good sign. I'd wait it out, unless you're extremely confident about approval (high FICO, strong income, few recent inquiries, no more than 5 new accounts in last 24 months, etc.).

ty. not in a rush, other than getting spend in before the end of the year, although it seems the general expectation is that the year is determined by credit date, if my lazy reading is correct..

Yes, if you wait, you'll miss the 2016 travel credit. It's not a big deal, youll just have to get it in 2018.

It will not hurt to call. It will even speed things up if they need to move credit around to get you approved. Do you have other cards with Chase? Are you under 5/24?

Normally I'd say wait, but being as you want December statement, this may be an exception.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I was approved on a 4bm a few weeks ago. I called in and was approved. I don't see any harm in calling in. If you didn't get instant approval, that means, a pair of eyes are going to look at it either way.

DP - I opened the card earlier this month, statement closes 12/9 - due date 1/6. Not that this means anything because of DROPR but CS said I have until 12/9 to get the $300 for this year...

What happens when you have no Dec statement? Your annual credit will be showing. Will that be for 16 or 17?
