Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

PSA:

Recent multiple datapoints are showing CSR with auto reload on E-Z pass coding as travel again.

I have the CSR card and received the 100k bonus. I am now a JP Morgan Private Banking client (not Chase Private Client) so I can now get the JPMR card, which I think is now only a 60k bonus. Question is: Since I do not want to spend $300 a year ($450 - the travel credit x 2) and I dont really see the benefit of both, should I open a JPMR card and then cancel the CSR? I imagine I can just transfer the points from mt CSR to the JPMR. Some advice would be helpful.

Thanks

If you don't want both just downgrade the CSR to a freedom or freedom unlimited.

I already have a freedom card. I guess I could downgrade to freedom unlimited. Does it hurt my credit at all by having both the freedom and freedom unlimited that will get no use? Considering the JPMR card doesn't report spending to the credit companies.

Not it won't change anything at all from the CSR.

I guess it's just too bad that the bonus is just 60k as opposed to the 100k it was a few months ago.

Look at it this way, at least it's 60k instead of the 50k the CSR dropped to

same carriers are makpid that you bring the CC used to pay for the flight. I am not sure which ones and if its only specific types of tickets (i.e. awards).

certain vendors can authorize even from the old one

Like PayPal (I guess they have a trusted vendor list) I wonder if airlines can.

Just bring your old cc as well if you really want to be safe. Any rep at the counter can see the situation and over rule it even if required.

Do you have a Biz? The Ink Preferred is at 80k and only $95 annual fee.  Same 3x for travel expenses.
