Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Has anyone had difficulty converting a Sapphire Reserve to Freedom lately?

I got shot down 3 times already by secure message because "product changes are not allowed the first 12 months the account is open". Yet that was never the case for the CSR, only the CSP - in fact, as recently as last week, someone I know downgraded successfully...

Did you try converting to a regular sapphire first?

Had the same story a while ago. Rep told me that you can't "downgrade" to anything out of the "sapphire family" before 12 months

ETA: see now that you were talking about the CSR. I had this story with CSP

I added an AU on SR (for UR points transfer) , I was under the impression that there's a fee for that... But I got a letter today with 'Revised terms' membership fee is $0!! Does that make sense?
when will i get charged for having a AU on my account? i added someone 2 months ago had 2 statements since then but still didn't get charged anything?
having the same situation after adding au on my and my wifes cards, looks like chase officially stopped charging fees for adding au on the CSR

is there anyone that did get charged a fee for adding a au in the last 2 3 months?
Do u have any different idea for a signature?

Did it work?

Nope. Shot down again, trying to convert to regular Sapphire.  >:(

Looks like the CSR is destined to remain a CSR until next July.

Over SM and phone? That's interesting... Why not just wait until you get charged your AF and then downgrade?

CSP never worked, as didn't any card with no annual fee the first year. But the CSR worked like a charm... until a few days before I tried, apparently.  >:(

It's possible that they changed something when they changed the sapphire family rules but my gut tells me they didn't officially change anything and it's just YMMV.

Why not just wait until you get charged your AF and then downgrade?

1) CSR gets charged AF the first year, so that idea doesn't really help anyway.
2) Either way, I want to convert it to a Freedom now, for the 5x each quarter. Like this I'm losing a whole year of 5x bonuses.

Well, I'm putting a LOT of mileage into this one, and it isn't working. And it used to work on the first try.

I was referring to the second year's AF, I didn't realize you just got the card.

Not trying to be rude or anything, but... what part of "...the first 12 months the account is open" wasn't clear, that I'm talking about first year?  ???

I knew you were still in your first year, that was obvious or this wouldn't even be a discussion. I was assuming you were nearing the end of your first year and wanted to downgrade, that's why I suggested you just wait a couple more months if necessary. It seems my assumption was incorrect.
