Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I would appreciate if anyone can help me fill in the below dates:

I applied for CSR Jan 2017
My 1st annual fee posted on Feb 1 2017 (Opening/Closing Date 01/11/17 - 02/01/17)
Got My 1st Travel Credit Feb 1 2017
My 2nd Annual Fee posted on Feb 1 2018 (Opening/Closing Date 01/02/18 - 02/01/18)

1) Till what date can I still cancel/downgrade for full AF refund?
2) When can I take advantage of another $300 before cancelling for full AF refund?

TIA

Seems like everyone’s doing it through SM, is there any reason why I shouldn’t call them?

1) You have 30 days from when the fee posted to cancel. You should be able to downgrade after that for a partial refund but I will let some one else answer that.

2) Since you applied before May 21, 2017 your travel credit goes by calendar year. You can use the 2018 credit immediately (and could have used it as early as 12/2/17, right after your December statement closed)

I lowered my CL and now I see a $450 membership fee credit even though I was never charged the AF for the 2nd year

Did you do the CL thing the first year also? Lowered it again?

I lowered mine To $1400 yesterday, still didn’t get off the fee. How long does it take?

Same here. It's my 2nd annual fee, so maybe it just doesn't work...

I lowered my CL to $1k on Jan. 28, my AF posted on Feb. 1, and still there... I was too late in the game...
