What has axcrypt, that you find it better?

Primarily, I like that AxCrypt allow the encrpytion of individual files where as TruCrypt (from last that I used - quite some time ago), requires you to make a encrypted folder or drive that you place all your files within.  It's not that one is better than the other, it's just that I prefer AxCrypt over TruCrypt because of this.

Not such a new one but
EVRYTHING SEARCH
http://www.voidtools.com/

Indexes your HDDs for instant seach capability including wildcards plus it uses nearly 0 system resources.  It's one of the first things I install on any new computer.

Also
Team Viewer
http://www.Teamviewer.com/
Free for personal use and provides no hassle remote access or presentation.  Alot of people don't realize how great this is.  Think of all the family members/friends that call you up with simple tech questions that take 30 seconds for you to solve and 1 hour to explain over the phone.  Just have them open the program and BAM, you take over.  It's been a lifesaver.

How easy is this to set up? You have to save the EXE online somewhere, since EXE files are blocked by many email services. Is there anywhere that'll host it (publicly) for free?

Stick it in your public dropbox folder.

Great idea. Is a teamviewer host easily accessible from a remote client? How does it compare to LMI?

I've had no issues with it. What I generally do is, if I will repeatedly accessing the remote computer I use LMI, if it is a one off thing then I use TV...

You can always use TV to get one-time remote access so you can LMI :)

What link? ???

You mean the 'add computer' link after you log in? What I'm really annoyed about it that they removed the 'users' feature from the LMI free accounts).

If you use the add computer link and download the file that it gives you, that is a customized to your account installer. I have that in my public dropbox and send out that link, when someone installs it, it gets added to my account :)

Honestly I haven't spent that much time using LMI, but I've always been thrilled with TV.  Yes you have to download an exe but I usually e-mail the D/L link rather than attach the file.  To run once, it's a live run, no installation.  If it's a machine that I have to access frequently you can install it as a background service that opens with windows so I don't even need the person to give me the code anymore, I have a preset admin password.

So when you have multiples of these, can you log onto two of them simultaneously? Is the TV client (not host) experience similar to LMI?

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but there is a presenter mode where you can simply share your desktop.  I haven't actually used that feature so I can't speak about it.
