When I clicked on the 30k link I entered my login info and got a message saying call them. What do I say when I call what promo code do I provide them?

I have a BGR card right now that's been open for ~1 month. I've spent my $5k and received my 50000 MR points for the sign-up bonus. I have a handful of points in pending.

Am I right in thinking that after Shabbos, I can upgrade to the Business Platinum, pay the $450 annual fee, get a $200 airline credit, receive the AA Club pass (which is good for a few years), wait until January, get another $200 airline credit, downgrade the card in mid-January (60 days from this weekend) back to the BGR, and receive my $450 annual fee back? I.e., $400 free airline credits, club passes, Hilton Gold or whatever other perks there are, for free? And when I downgrade back to the BGR, I'll have my remaining ~9 months or so of my first year free? And also, if I happen to spend $10k, I'll get 30k MR points too (not sure I'll be able to, though).

Am I missing anything or do I have this right?

Only thing you are missing is after your done with plat you should downgrade to Green for 5K points and then back to gold, or you can try platinum again, and you may get it this time with first year free (happened to me)

Anyone has an idea how the AF will be refunded? Is it at the rate of ($450/12=)$37.5/month or ($450/365=)$1.23/day?

I just upgraded my card to Plat yesterday (11/14/13). If I downgrade the card to Green in the middle of Feb 2014, say 2/13/14, how much AF will be applied?

Not sure at what rate, but you have 60 days for a full refund.

I upgraded from gold about half way through my year- so they are prorating it to half yr as oppose to the full amount. Does this men the 60 day rile wont apply here?

I believe it is a new fee when you upgrade to Platinum. Nothing to do with your previous card.

It's a new fee but they charge you based on the remainder of the year of card you upgraded from. So when I upgraded 1 month after I had my Biz Gold, the Plat Biz billed me $412.50 on my next statement. My experience as well was that I had fresh 60 days from upgrade to cancel for full refund.

Just did it but i tried a few reps and none of them wanted to give me the 25k after first purchase. Got the 30k after 10k of spending and she threw in 2k MR for the inconvenience (that they didnt want to give me a promotion I wasnt entitled to

Spoke to supervisor, she notated that i met criteria for that offer, and told me to give it some time...

I'm assuming you upgraded the BGR to platinum not the personal?
