Any clue if I need to use the actual plat card or once the upgrade goes through online and it shows a platinum account I can use the old gold card and have it count towards the needed spend?

i had an offer sent directly to me from amex. but the link seems dead now.

After not being able to upgrade online, I just got a call from Amex offering me 30k MR for upgrading my BRG to Plat but having to spend 10k in 5 months.

Not really a big deal but Is there any way to get the bonus without the spend requirement?

So I upgraded to the platinum a week or so after the Gold AF hit and this time when the statement hit there was no credit for the gold AF back. There was a fee on the new statement for $14.58 (which is one months worth of the 175 for AU I'm guessing). so no clue why no fee reversal or fee for plat on this statement but my fingers are crossed.

I got the 50k points though so that worked.

I'm going to be upgrading my business gold to platinum soon after i downgrade my current business platinum. Are there any other bonuses besides the 30K MR for $10K spend I can try for?

Also, is there a min. amount of time i should wait between downgrading and upgrading? Should i wait until i get the new downgraded card before upgrading my gold?

I need some advice here. (Pushed off writing this up for too long)

So i upgraded my Gold to Plat over the phone last year with no bonus available.
I tried to get an offer added after to no avail till the most amazing manager i have ever spoken to gave me 50k straight-up!
He said it would post right away and i can "Do Right" by spending 5k in three months though it wouldn't be necessary.
And it posted right away to my account as if i did the welcome offer sped of 5k for 50k.

Amazing. I know.

A good half year later, and i want to close it so i can count 12 months over, but i am not sure if i even have to because i am not sure if i "Received the offer"

Maybe i should downgrade back to gold?

I would appreciate some input from the wise ones here.
