Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread
« on: September 02, 2016, 12:12:36 AM »
Click Here to get more details on this card and compare to other cards!

Being that the other thread is mainly about signing up and getting approved, I feel the need for a thread to discuss the many benefits is the card, and how it boils down to us (think pggm).

I'll start by asking (possibly already discussed, but way too hard to find amongst all the other stuff):

1. Is it a given that the higher 1.5 point redemption will apply to all ur points one has, or they will keep them separate?

2. Cashing out the $300 as easy as Barclay card, or something else necessary?

As Dan posted a screenshot in the comments on one of his posts, ALL points get the 1.5 redemption. As stated in a few posts that with the quarterly Freedom bonuses you'll end up with 7.5 on the dollar.

Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

1. Dan already posted somewhere in that thread that you even before he got the card he was able to move points from other UR cards on his account to the CSR account and redeem at the 1.5.

2. This seems to be easier because chase has a broader definition of travel and the credits are automatic (CMIIW). In terms of things like refundables I'm not sure because I believe I saw on the Ritz thread, someone used it for upgrades (the Ritz credits are only for incidentals) on a refundable flight and when they cancelled the flight Chase clawed back the credits.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Experience?
I thought he was referring to the A+, totally forgot about the gold card.

But should be easier, covers more categories, and it's automatic. No personal experience though.

By A+, I assume he was referring to the classic way of cashing out A+ points. I haven't heard any data points yet.

My wife just got her plastic card. We don't have any travel expenses until early 2017 and I'd like to get that credit ASAP. People said the we could get the $250 airline credit on the Prestige by buying refundable tickets. Any DP on that method for Chase?

IIRC it's not coded as travel with visa.

Which ddf's read the comments on DDMS?
But ye, now that the card is actually in people's hands, more DP's should be available..

Seems like everything asked here has been covered in the DDMS gemara, no need for the Rashi.

Where do you sign up for this status?
