Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like it doesn't have to be ordered for the card member

That's what it looks like. And if you have AUs then you can order one on each card too, from what I understand.

Quote from the Amex Press release

http://aexp.co/iRT

$100 Global Entry Credit -- The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) offers a program called Global Entry that allows approved members expedited clearance and the ability to bypass lines at International Arrivals in major U.S. airports when returning from traveling abroad. Card members who apply and pay the application fee of $100 with their Platinum Card will receive a statement credit. And once the application is approved, the membership will be valid for five years

I signed up for this a while ago - oh well...

Besides the hand scanner that let's you avoid the passport control lines, they also put a little sticker in your passport that lets you go to the front of the line by customs (after you get your suitcases).   The only problem you'll have is all the mean stares from passengers that you are cutting in front of   :)

good perk, I've thought about signing up after seeing the signs while waiting on line at immigration. The interview times/places are limited, so you've either got to go to the airport special or go after a flight.  I wonder if I can sign up now, get the credit and only schedule the interview whenever it happens to work out, a year from now, whenever?

Not much - you have to show up in person, and that's when they set up the hand scanner.

By the way - if any of you are Israeli citizens - you can sign up at the TLV airport for their expedited immigration hand scanning.   You get a swipe card (as opposed to here where you swipe your passport) and then you bypass the lines by immigration - and it's totally free!

Do you think I can open a GE account for my wife & get credited on 1 of my Amex Platinum accounts? (I have 1 personal & 1 biz, both in my name)
