Here are the questions:
Have you been arrested? have you ever had a problem with border police or imigration?
if you answer, NO then you are not a criminal.

Does it really say that on the application, because it implies something that isn't true. Being arrested and/or having a problem with border control/immigration doesn't make someone a criminal...

No, they ask you this question at the interview

Has anyone else noticed that the applications seem to be pending for much longer?
I applied when it first started and it took a few days for them to approve the app.
My wife applied like 3 weeks ago and its still pending.
Perhaps they are bogged down with apps from all the new amex plat cardholders

I Just completed my GOES interview at JFK, took about 5 miniutes.

I asked them if i travel with family members who r not registered ie: children, and she said you can still go to the GOES kiyosk, and you will meet the officer there who will take you the front of the line

for those of us who have arrived on a 747, the line could be big.
i asked them the same question (in lax) and they told me if i brought my kid to the kiosk, they would immediately revoke my ge membership. there are 0 benefits for someone thats not a member, including front of the line

I was told in EWR that since I usually travel with a kid  I CAN   go to the front of the line and just show the sticker in the back of the passport......

More like every TSA (or whatever this is) agent says something else based on their mood...

i think its more of an airport policy thing
when i told the agent that ive read that front of the line benefits can be extended to wife/kids, another hs agent overheard my question and reiterated in no uncertain terms that if i were to attempt it, my membership would be immediately revoked

lax is known to have different customs policies as well in regards to bringing in esrogim from israel, that even with a sticker, they wont let it through. might not be related though

A friend of mine who is learning/living in israel is not sure if he should put his israeli address on the application or his american address on (which is where he gets his bank and cc statements) even though for the last few years his primary address is israel.

what do you guys think? is there anything to lose by putting his israeli address on even though his licence has an american address? and if he uses his israeli address what should be his proof of address, his water bill which is in hebrew?

If you go to the AMEX website www.americanexpress.com/lacidc/en/prcards/platinumbenefits.shtml you will see in the fine print below that almost all of the Membership Rewards will only apply if you are a U.S. Resident.

Sorry!

I did a quick Google search and this is what I found...
Quote
"Also during the interview, you'll need to show proof of residence. You need not be a U.S. resident to qualify, and they're fairly flexible about how to prove residency. Often, a utility bill in your name is the best option. In my case, my foreign ID card and electric bill were fine.

Is the application still pending?

If not, how long did it take?

My app has been pending for quite a while now.

you can try to call a local GOES facility and ask why it's still pending. when i went for my interview, my wife's application was still pending, so they checked it and took care of it on the spot.
