using unlocked verizon phone on sprint
« on: October 30, 2016, 12:12:01 PM »
i got an old verizon iphone 5c and want to use it on my sprint plan. sprint told me i need to go down to a corporate store and they would give me a special sim card (for free) that can be used on a verizon phone. is there any easier way for me to activate my verizon iphone?

I don't think it's possible to use a verizon phone on sprint.

The only way that it should work is if you flash the phone.

The sprint rep probably doesn't know what he's talking about

i just called the sprint corporate store and they said that they actually just put in a regular sim card but they just need to put the phone in their database and it would work. He also said that the guy that does it is not in today. Sounds like they can do it...

worked no problem! without flashing. they just needed to put the phone in their data system and put in a new sim card.

iphones have both types of hardware in them. 5 and higher.
They can work on CDMA and GSM.

That's not the problem. Going from one CDMA network to another is the hard part.

Are you saying that an iPhone is different then any other device?

I don't think it has anything to do with iPhone or Android, any LTE phone on verizon or sprint will have both GSM and CDMA hardware.

Sprint and Verizon are both CDMA. Yet this is the first time that I'm hearing that using the same phone is possible with each other w/o flashing it.

Good morning they are both using LTE which is why they are compatible nothing to do with cdma.

The fact that he was able to use his Sprint Sim shows that Sprint finally opened up its brain and said the if we don't allow byod then we are doomed. It seems like they are making a good move.

I believe the s7 will work if I am not mistaken it was In the press release

First time I've heard about it also. I was just addressing the iPhone vs other phones.
