Roth IRA
« on: April 11, 2011, 05:12:11 PM »
I need to open a Roth IRA account in the next few days.

I don't plan on doing any major trading but I do want to have the option. Different companies have different trade fees, annual maintenance fees and other fees.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Any suggestions, tips, and helpful info would be much appreciated.

My money is in the bank. All of it.

I know what the Roth IRA is. I know that what goes in is all taxed already.

Different companies have different trade fees, annual maintenance fees and other fees.

I just want to know who to use..

Thanks

I personally use sogotrade - $3 per trade, and no inactivity or maintenance fees.. I used to be with scottrade but prefer sogo for obvious reasons. See their website for more info.

I used a company named "IB Brokerage"

They charge $1 per 100 shares you trade,
Monthly fee of $10 - waved if trade fees reaches $30

I was very happy with them.

I don't know, I used to have Sogo but I end up paying tons of money in fees verses this days when I'm using IB,

Could be the reason was because I used sogo when I started so I was a very wild trader, but that's my look at them that they are eating up my money.
