Need help with info about baggage
« on: November 28, 2016, 02:01:46 PM »
Hi I have a flight from ewr to tlv via Brussels. The 1st leg I'm flying with united and the 2nd leg I'm flying with Brussels airline with a 1 hour stopover. When I land in Brussels am I going to have to go to baggage claim get my bag and then recheck with the new airline or is it going to switch automatically? If yes do you think there's enough time to get my bag and get on my plane with going through customs and all?

if its on one ticket it always goes straight to the final destination. if its on 2 tickets, you can ask them to send it directly to tlv

I am booking JFK to LHR on Delta with a 13 hour stopover and then going from LHR to TLV with LY. (2 separate tickets) would I be able to check in my bags at JFK to go directly to TLV or do I need to recheck them in LHR ?

DL and LY have no interlining agreement. You'd have to recheck.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Either way you would have to recheck based on the stopover time.
Make stuff happen.

-1 in heathrow you can through-check bags if your stop is less than 24 hours

I have a flight from MEL-LAX with virgin aust. in J. I then have a flight on United from LAX-HOU 2.5hrs later in Y (separate ticket). I understand that you have to clear customs/immi upon arrival in LAX, but does anyone know if I can get them tagged to the final destination from melbourne, thereby saving on the baggage fees and getting the J baggage allowance?
Virgin Aust. and United do have an interline agreement, but I'm wondering if it will apply here

not sure where this goes:

I booked an AA award flight (domestic) out of an account with an associated AA (plat) card.
the flight reservation says for baggage
Quote
American Airlines 1st Bag No Charge 62 din / 158 dcm Under 50 lbs/ 23 kgs

question is as follows:
The attached CC is scheduled to be downgraded between now and the flight. If that happens, will I lose the baggage allowance? i.e. does that get reckoned at ticketing time, or at flight (baggage) time?
Or does the flight somehow have another baggage allowance attached to it now? will I be able to show the receipt and push it?

shouldn't be a problem as long as the primary card holder is on this reservation. Also I'd recommend you bring along the downgraded card just In case

primary cardholder is downgrading, downgraded card isn't eligible  for the free bags benefit

I got that. I'm asking if the  person traveling is  the primary, if not he would have a problem even without the card being downgraded (AFAIK).

Now if he is the primary it shouldn't be a problem the reason I said to bring the downgraded card is just in case the question him(which they shouldn't)he can just flash the card.
