Need Help - US virtual number

Does anyone know where I can get a free virtual US phone number which I can use to call and text from online (like google voice) but that doesn't require me having a US cell number already?

I only have an Israeli number.

Google voice hangouts. You gotta use an American IP to set it up on Google voice desktop site.

you also need a US number that has never been used to activate a Google voice acct before

If you can set up Google voice I would suggest that option first.

Other wise you can use Textnow talkatone or sideline or just search the play store for SMS Text or TXt

a lot of these apps require that you use the phone number every so often to keep the same number

some of these apps might require that you have Us number to set up acct

also Skype might be an option but I think that costs $

very useful, get a local us/Canada number, free incoming calls unlimited text outgoing very cheap, (or you can use there promotions)

You only need the number once to set it up. So you could ask a friend to use his number and then delete it from your account.
